PET CARE GUIDE

A calmer first week. A better life together.

From preparing your home to food, behavior, and vet visits, we’ll break pet care into steps you can actually use.

New to cats? Start here.

Before your cat comes home, set up a quiet place to rest and the essentials. Give them time to settle in, then build a predictable routine for food, water, litter, and play. Ask your local veterinarian about vaccines, parasite prevention, spaying or neutering, and checkups based on your cat’s age and health.

Start with a safe space

Provide places to hide and rest, and think about where food, water, litter boxes, and scratching surfaces belong. In multi-cat homes, separate resources can help reduce tension.

Food, water, and healthy weight

Choose food for your pet’s life stage and health needs. Make food changes gradually, count treats as part of the daily intake, and check with your veterinarian when medical diets or health conditions are involved.

Build trust at their pace

Hiding on day one doesn’t mean your cat dislikes you. Offer space and choices, keep interactions predictable, and build trust through play. Carrier training and vet-visit practice can come a little at a time.
